Boxed set of post mortem instruments to help prepare the body for burial. The set was made by Arnold & Sons of England. There is a blank shield shaped brass cartouche on the top The case contains a complete set with the exception of scissors. The two bone handled instruments ( scalpel and tenaculum ) may be replacements. All other instruments , including the chain hook are marked Arnold & Sons. Circa 1866.
