Black leather rolled set of dental instruments by Paris maker Mathieu. Ten ebony handled instruments including a pied de piche goats foot elevator. Also present is a smaller tooth key with several different attachments. and a forcep marked Mathieu. A small mirror is also present. This set is of the type that was carried by itinerant dental surgeons as they travelled the countryside performing their dental miracles. circa 1750 -1800.
