Very nice brass cornered set by Weigand & Snowden lined in deep purple velvet. Weigand & Snowden were in business together from 1823 - 1855. The knives are heavy and of much different style than those of later sets. The knives are marked. The set includes two silver Trach tubes which were not a part of the set. and surgical thread and needles. There are two brass swing latches that close the set. Circa 1850.
