Beautiful set of two large amputation knives, both marked Wood. Wood was located in England but Bennion lists four different makers by the name Wood.
The knives are housed in a leather-covered case with an interior deep blue velvet lining. Both knives are in pristine condition with checkered black ebony handles. The exterior of the case has a blank silver plate and the box opens with two push buttons in the front. circa 1850 - 1870.
