Beautiful brass bound boxed set with sliding latches in the front to secure the set. It was made by W.R.Goulding of New York, New York. All the instruments are marked Goulding with the exception of the tourniquet. The rongeur is missing. The saw has a very ornate and heavy brass handle. The sliding latches in the front are the type that were used for war sets. This set dates to before the civil war so may have been a war set for the Mexican war which was from 1846-1848, There is a paper label marked with Gouldings information on the inside divider. circa 1845-1848.
