
This two layered set is held within a leather carrying case which is in good condition. The set is complete and all pieces are marked Gemrig. Jacob Gemrig migrated to Phil from Germany in 1830. He began manufacturing surgical instruments in 1844. He was contracted by the Union Army to make sets during the war. After 1881, he was joined by his son and the company became J.H,Gemrig & Son. This set has the label of J.H.Gemrig & Son . The set has a working lock with a working key. circa 1881 - 1885.
