New Elements of Operative Surgery by Alf. A. L. M. Velpeau. 16 plates in the volume are the original operative plates.. At some point some plates were removed. There are an additional 5 original plates that stand alone separate from the volume. There are photocopies as well included with the volume taken from a matching volume in the National Museum of Medicine in Bethesda that have been inserted into the volume where the originals are missing.
