Beautiful brass cornered smaller set by Codman & Shurtleff of Boston. The second layer sits on top of the first layer and lifts off that lower layer. The set is a partial set. There is a single sliding latch in the front to secure the case typical of those seen on sets from the civil war, indicating it may have been a war set. .circa 1858 -1871.
