Beautiful brass-bound box with a keyhole in front. All instruments are original to the set and marked Hernstein. Very similar to the set pictured in Edmunson page 88. According to the family from which it was purchased; it was used by their great grandfather Dr. William McPheeters who reside in Natchez, Miss and who served in the confederate army. He was born on March 11, 1833 and died on Sept. 1905. Circa 1855 - 1861.
